One more place to enjoy near Vail in Colorado
Former President Gerald Ford and his wife, Betty, chose Vail as their favorite vacation destination. Betty Ford, affectionately known as the “First Lady of the Vail Valley” among locals, played a vital role in supporting the growth of this mountain community. To commemorate her contributions, the Vail Alpine Garden Foundation established a magnificent botanical garden dedicated to her. This enchanting garden offers visitors breathtaking vistas of the Rocky Mountains as they leisurely walk amidst vibrant flowerbeds, flowing streams, and cascading waterfalls.
The gardens at this place have received high praise from recent visitors. People loved the beautiful plants and the breathtaking views of the mountains. The Education Center also impressed visitors with its interactive activities for kids. However, it’s important to note that the gardens are situated at a very high altitude of 8,250 feet above sea level. Some visitors cautioned that those who are prone to altitude sickness might experience symptoms here. To cope with this, it’s recommended to drink plenty of water, which you can conveniently buy at the gift shop on-site.
