One of Arizona’s most famous landmarks is Cathedral Rock, located in Sedona’s official Red Rock State Park. Many recent visitors highly recommend making a trip to this park to witness the majestic red rock formations that surround Sedona.

About 10 miles southwest of the “Y” intersection of routes 89A and 179, you’ll find a beautiful 286-acre nature preserve. It offers stunning views of Sedona’s famous formations. The park has a trail network that spans 5 miles, consisting of interconnected looped trails. One of these trails is the Eagle’s Nest Loop, which takes you to the highest point in the park, providing an elevation gain of approximately 300 feet. Don’t forget to visit the visitor center, where you can explore the area’s history and participate in guided nature walks and moonlit hikes.
