Explore the National Center for Civil and Human Rights to delve into the American civil rights movement and ongoing human rights challenges worldwide. This comprehensive complex spans 42,000 square feet and presents a variety of exhibits. Alongside temporary displays, you’ll find three permanent exhibits, one of which houses a remarkable collection of Martin Luther King Jr.’s artifacts. In the captivating “Voice to the Voiceless” exhibition, visitors can witness papers documenting King’s life and encounter “Fragments,” a fascinating metal artwork that highlights his thoughts and writings.
The museum suggests setting aside approximately two hours to fully enjoy its exhibits, but according to many previous visitors, you can easily spend several hours immersed in the center’s captivating and educational displays. One particular highlight that left a lasting impression on many was the lunch counter experience offered at the “Rolls Down Like Water” exhibit.
